Weed was a collaboration between Werner Monka (g), Bernd Hohmann (fl, voc), Reinhold Spiegelfeld (b) from the band Virus, Rainer Schnelle (keyb), Peet Becker (dr) and a Brit named Ken Hensley from Uriah Heep(!). This German/British band project recorded their one and only eponymous debut in the Windrose-Dumont Time Studio Hamburg in 1971, between the Uriah Heep albums Salisbury and Look At Yourself. Also released in the same year it contents heavy psychedelic rock with loads of guitar and keyboards.
Despite the participation of a famous band member from England and the „eye-catching“ cover design, the album went largely unnoticed. It therefore remained the only record that is now a sought-after collector's item, and not just among Uriah Heep fans.
