Tyburn Tall was founded in 1969 in Speyer/Germany and played progressive rock with classical influences, later also towards a sound influenced more by jazz-rock elements. Some of the musicians as the former keyboarder Gunther Göttsche and the bassman Stefan Kowa had completed a classical training. After many successful gigs, among these as opener for Golden Earring and Renaissance, in the spring of 1972 the band decided to release an own vinyl. This one and only album with four self-written tracks was recorded in a small private recording studio in Bellheim, approx. 20 km away from Speyer.
Only 200 copies were privately manufactured and more than half of them were destroyed in a fire in the music shop named Markus in Speyer. Today it is one of the most expensive German private pressing!
