The band Trúbrot was founded in 1969 as an Icelandic supergroup made up of members of the bands Hljómar and Flowers. After their debut album and various line-up changes, they went to Denmark in 1970 and stayed there for about a month to record their second album “Undir ahrifum” at Wifoss Studio in Copenhagen. In contrast to their first album, which contained various 60s classics in Icelandic versions, here they ventured into the territory of progressive and psychedelic rock, with almost all the songs sung in English.
It was released the same year on Parlophone. It features amazing multi-part English male vocals in the vein of Crosby, Stills & Nash, accompanied by acid rock with some psychedelic pop-rock influences. Great arrangements and a varied use of organ and heavy guitar, strongly influenced by the British Underground.
The album was voted the best album of 1970 in Iceland and is now a very rare and sought-after progressive rock LP.
