Spring was formed in 1970 and based in Leicester, all band members had previously played in local bands. After a touring van broke down, Kingsley Ward who owned Rockfield Recording Studios found them stranded. Inviting the band to audition, he snapped them up for management, heavily impressed by their mellotron-driven progressive rock. Together with Elton John fellow Gus Dudgeon as producer they made one of the best progressive rock albums ever.
This highly collectable Neon LP, released in a beautiful triple gatefold sleeve, remained their only official release.
