Someones Band is one of the few amazing bands whose members met simply through contacts in the London music scene and wanted ads in Melody Maker, and who immediately produced such a professional and convincing album. Cecil James (voc, perc), Melvin Buckley (g), John Coxen (g), Terry Powney (b) and Woody Martin (dr, perc) received an offer from an independent production company to record an album, which was licensed by Decca and then released by Deram in September 1970. It contains brilliant and varied progressive blues and soul with influences of jazz, funk and African music.
Unfortunately, this self-titled sole album by the band was only released in a very small edition and was not further promoted. It is now a monster rarity and one of the rarest and most sought-after LPs of this period. And one island favourite!
