After his engagement with Crazy World of Arthur Brown, the English bass guitarist was a member of the group Khan, who recorded an LP with Steve Hillage and Dave Stewart in 1972. In the same year, his only solo album Cold Cuts was released on the small label Kingdom Records. Nicholas Greenwood took over the vocals, played bass and was supported by eleven (!) musicians who contributed to the recordings with two guitars, keyboards, wind instruments, violins, viola, cello, drums and harmonic vocals. The result is a varied, Hammond organ-dominated and psychedelic-influenced prog rock with jazz-rock elements. Although the LP was also released in France and Holland on the Pink Elephant label, it wasn't a success at all. Despite or because of the scandalous cover image?
It is not known how many copies of this album were pressed or sold, but it is definitely a highlight among the ultra-rare progressive records from the UK.
