Galadriel was an Australian six-piece band from Sydney, named after a character created by J. R. R. Tolkien in his Middle-earth writings. They recorded their sole album in May 1971 which was released only in Australia and Germany. It shows a remarkable range of bluesy hard rock, progressive folk and even jazzy ballads. Sadly it sank without a trace and the band split in early 1972.
Thanks to rock historian Ian McFarlane, this ultra-rare and forgotten gem is now internationally known and has became one of the most collectible artefacts of Down Under '70s prog rock.
