Austrian band Freak Out, named after the first Mothers of Invention LP, was founded as a trio in the late 1960s by Robert Musenbichler (g, voc), Mike Gartner (b, sax) and Charlie Dienes (dr). As a local popularity and with three more band members (second guitar, saxophone and percussion), they got a record contract from Gerd Kernmayer on his small Cosmos label. They released two singles and one album, which was recorded live at the Klagenfurt concert hall on Saturday, 24 April 1971. Their psychedelic rock with slightly jazzy guitar riffs in duet with the saxophone was unusual for the time.
Released in a small amount of 200 copies only, this LP has long been a real hot candidate for collectors.
