The folk duo Emtidi with Canadian Dolly Holmes (g, bouzouki, kazoo, voc) and German Maik Hirschfeldt (g, fl, voc) was founded in London in 1970. After moving to Berlin in the same year, they recorded their first album on the small Thorofon label, which was also released in 1970. It contains mainly acoustic folk with progressive and psychedelic moves.
As the record company primarily released classical music, this could have been the reason for the very small print run of 500 copies. Furthermore, this album was not advertised in any way and therefore went completely unnoticed on the shelves of a handful of record stores. Not only then but of course also incredibly rare today, this debut album is therefore sought-after and expensive.
