Earth & Fire, one of the most successful groups in Dutch pop history, was founded in Den Haag/Netherlands in 1969. After several single hits in their home country they made their first eponymous LP with psychedelic and progressive rock, heavily influenced by the late 60's American psych rock bands with female vocalists. With stand out guitar solos, very fast and heavy, it is much tougher and more raw than the sound the group later became famous for.
While the continent copies released in the well-known „matchbox cover“ the UK releases at the tiny Philips side label Nepentha housed in a beautiful gatefold cover designed by the then still unknown artist Roger Dean. This very sought-after UK version is very hard to acquire.
