20-year-old David Robert Jones recorded his self-titled first album at Decca Studios in West Hampstead, London from November 1966 until March 1967. It was first released by Deram in the USA in April 1967, then in the UK, the German first press was available in stereo only from the end of 1967. This baroque 60s British pop with thoughtful and critical lyrics is first and foremost historically interesting, as it represents the beginning of an extraordinary career. It was no commercial success and therefore only sold in small numbers. Incredibly rare, as it is in extreme demand worldwide.
