German band Arktis was formed by Karin Töppig (voc), Klaus Blachut (g), Klaus Göllner (b) and Harry Kottek (dr) in March 1973. They came from the area around Bonn and played already in different other groups. Their self-titled debut-album released in the same year with the intention to get a contract with a bigger label. It shows early 70s hard guitar blues and psych rock with fuzzy freak-outs, fronted by female vocals.
From this legendary album in a handcrafted cover only 300 copies were made. Incredibly rare nowadays and sought-after not only from underground collectors.
