After two previous LPs, which were reasonably successful, Greek progressive rock band Aphrodite’s Child released this intriguing masterpiece in 1972. Recorded in Paris, Artemios Venturis (Demis) Roussos (b, voc), Evangelos (Vangelis) Papathanassiou (org, p, fl, perc, vib) and Lucas Sideras (dr) with support from Argiris Koulouris (g) and several guest musicians played a mix of prog-rock, free-form jazz and musique concrète with hints of raga and Middle Eastern folk.
The two LP concept album based on the story of the Apocalypse as described in Revelation of John. Musically far ahead of its time it was no success at all, so soon afterwards they disbanded. Original UK Vertigo copies of this legendary progressive concept album are in high demand world-wide and really scarce nowadays.
