Cressida is one of the largely forgotten formations of the early phase of British progressive rock. Founded at the end of 1968 they playing clubs in London and across the UK. They got a contract with the Vertigo label, launched by Philips Records Ltd.
Their self-titled debut from 1969 is an early seventies forgotten classic with delicate vocals, gobs of organ and acoustic guitar. It spills over from memorable and simultaneously sad and beautiful melodies. Meanwhile very hard to find and as a UK original a true collector’s item.
